Assistant Kitchen Manager

Quantity of hours – 30 to 40 per week

Hourly pay rate – £10 – £11.50

Slidertown are currently looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join their team. This individual must have a passion for food, be motivated, organised and have experience working within a similar kitchen

The job role will include:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
  •  The ability to run a service with another team member
  •  Confident to be able to work a period of time in the kitchen on their own
  •  Involvement with menu designs, recipes and serving suggestion
  • Have an eye for detail and take pride in the food you produce
  •  A minimum of level two certificate in Food and Hygiene
  •  The ability to manage a small team
  •  Upholding the standard we have put in place over the years
  • Confidence in placing orders and maintaining our targeted GP %
  • A strong understanding of stock control and prep par levels
  •  The ability to prep all dishes ready for service
  •  To maintain our level 5 food and hygiene ratin

The right candidate must have a minimum 2 years working within a similar role

This would be a great opportunity for someone who has experience within running the kitchen during service but would also like to develop their knowledge and understanding
of food and kitchen management. Our kitchen team is small, so the role is hands on in every aspect, fast-paced but easily manageable.

Trainee Chef

Quantity of hours – 30 to 40 per week

Hourly pay rate – Minimum wage plus tiered wage progression plan

Slidertown are currently looking for a trainee chef to join their team. This individual must have a passion for food, be motivated, organised and interested in progressing within the catering industry

The job role will include:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
  • Plating and garnishing
  • Working the cook line
  • Preparation and batch cooking
  • Menu designs, recipes and presentation
  • Placing orders
  • Stock control and prep par levels
  • Level two certificate in food and hygiene
  • Costing and GP %
  • Procurement and sourcing of seasonal produce
  • HACCP, food hygiene records and reports

The right candidate may not have any prior experience but must enjoy working with food and a thirst to learn.

This would be a great opportunity for someone who has just finished catering college, have worked in low level positions within a kitchen and wanting to progress or someone who is passionate about food and looking for a change in career
